Matt Hunter from Central Connecticut State has won StatSheet's NEC Player of the Week for March 4th. Shivaughn Wiggins from Mount St. Mary's has won StatSheet's NEC Freshman of the Week. Finally, Quinnipiac's Ousmane Drame is StatSheet's NEC 6th Man of the Week. Hunter put up a strong showing in scoring (15.7 pts per game), assists (5 per game), and rebounding (8 per game). The Central Connecticut State junior played well in wins against Quinnipiac and St. Francis (PA) and a loss to Robert Morris.

Hunter led the Blue Devils in rebounding with 8 and added 3 assists in a close 67-65 win against Quinnipiac. That was followed by a team-leading 23 points plus an additional 9 assists in a narrow 84-81 victory over St. Francis (PA). Finally, Hunter led all scoring and rebounding with 17 points and 9 rebounds, closing out the week with an 81-61 loss to Robert Morris.

This is the second time this season that Matt Hunter has been selected StatSheet NEC Player of the Week. He has also received multiple honorable mentions. The runner-up this week is our own Alex Francis. Honorable mention goes to senior Jamal Olasewere from Long Island.

StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week: Mount St. Mary's's Shivaughn Wiggins

Shivaughn Wiggins averaged 30 minutes starting both games for Mount St. Mary's. His averages in both scoring (22.0 pts per game) and free throws (8.5 per game) were the best among all NEC freshmen. In a 77-63 win over Monmouth, Wiggins led all scoring for the Mountaineers with 16 and added 2 assists. Then in a massive 103-82 win against Fairleigh Dickinson, he led scoring with 28 points plus 3 steals.

Amazingly, Shivaughn Wiggins has won the StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week 4 times. The runner-up is Xavier Harris from Fairleigh Dickinson. Honorable mention goes to Greg Brown from St. Francis (PA).

StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week: Quinnipiac's Ousmane Drame

Ousmane Drame, a 6-9 Sophomore forward, played an average of 23 minutes over three games for the Bobcats. In a 67-65 loss to Central Connecticut State, Drame put up 11 points and 13 rebounds. After that, in a 78-67 win over St. Francis (NY), he racked up 7 points and 5 rebounds. Finally, in a 96-90 loss to Long Island, Drame put up 21 points on 70% shooting.

This is the second StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week honor for Ousmane Drame. Our own Joe O`Shea is runner up. Kelvin Parker, a sophomore forward from Mount St. Mary's, receives honorable mention. Bryant has won the StatSheet NEC Player of the Week award once this season.
