Sacred Heart's Justin Swidowski has been selected as the StatSheet NEC Player of the Week for the week ending February 13th. Lucky Jones from Robert Morris has earned StatSheet's NEC Freshman of the Week. And last but certainly not least, Monmouth's Marcus Ware has taken StatSheet's NEC 6th Man of the Week. Swidowski registered huge numbers in rebounding (4 per game), scoring (13.5 pts per game), and shooting (90%). The Sacred Heart junior played well for the Pioneers in victories against Bryant and Bryant.
Swidowski added 15 points and 6 rebounds in 38 minutes in a close 79-77 win against Bryant. That was followed by 12 points on 100% shooting in a huge 72-46 win against Bryant.
This is the first time this season that Justin Swidowski has been named StatSheet NEC Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Jamal Olasewere, a junior from Long Island. Honorable mention goes to sophomore Coron Williams from Robert Morris.
StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week: Robert Morris's Lucky Jones
Lucky Jones played an average of 27 minutes as a starter for Robert Morris. In a late 78-74 win over St. Francis (PA), Jones topped the Colonials in scoring with 14 points and tossed in 3 steals. Then in a 70-56 win against St. Francis (PA), he dialed up 8 points and 2 rebounds.
Lucky Jones has won the StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week an astounding 4 times. The runner-up is Ousmane Drame from Quinnipiac. Kelvin Parker from Mount St. Mary's takes honorable mention. Ben Altit, who finished 8th, was the highest ranking freshman for Bryant.
StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week: Monmouth's Marcus Ware
Marcus Ware, a junior and a 6-8 forward, played an average of 17 minutes over two games for the Hawks. In a 75-62 win over Fairleigh Dickinson, Ware put up 6 points and 5 rebounds. Then in an 82-68 win over Fairleigh Dickinson, he led all scoring and rebounding with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
This is the first time this season that Marcus Ware has won the StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week. Mike Myers Keitt, a senior forward from Monmouth, is the runner up. Jamee Jackson, a junior forward from Quinnipiac, earns honorable mention. Bryant has yet to win the StatSheet NEC Player of the Week award this season.
